In fact, nowadays you should expect an adversarial interaction with pretty much every website you visit and every app you use. But it's also the case that for the large majority of the people, it's not possible to simply stop using the internet. This doesn't mean that you should just shrug it off and ignore; at least to me, this means a renunciation of what makes us human.
